A native Oklahoman, Jake has been professionally interpreting since 2013. After working in special education coordination and administration, his interpreting practice has grown from video relay and community work into specialized areas including conference, performance, and business. He contributes to interpreter development through teaching, mentoring, and presenting at the local and state levels on topics related to interpreting and Deaf education. For over a decade he has served OKRID in various volunteer leadership roles, including committee and board service. Currently he works full time managing interpreting services supporting the executive and operational teams of a global Deaf-serving NGO and maintains a private practice through Scissortail Interpreting, LLC, based in Oklahoma City.
